Red for Heart Fundraiser
Insight Health Screening raises over £100 for the British Heart Foundation
The nurses at IHS conducted free blood pressure checks in Port Talbot Town centre in support of Red for Heart Month. The intention- to raise awareness of the dangers of hypertension and how it affects the heart.
Liz Terry , Lead Nurse said ‘ Hypertension or high blood pressure, rarely makes people feel ill. One in every three adults in the UK has high blood pressure, so it’s so important to have it checked regularly. We found a significant number of people with high blood pressure today, and we are now helping them to take steps to try and reduce it , and in some cases referred them on to their doctor. We found this to be a highly effective exercise, hopefully we have helped prevent some of these people from becoming ill, and we have raised over £100 for the BHF in the process!’.
